Silverado

INTRODUCING THE STRONGEST,
MOST ADVANCED SILVERADO EVER
When you combine a century of truck building know-how with 7 million miles of testing, you don’t just get any old truck. You get one that’s bigger, stronger and lighter than the previous generation. One that offers you more choices so you can get the capability you need. One that’s built on the legacy of the most dependable, longest-lasting full-sized pickups on the road†. You get a Silverado.
Performance and specs of the Silverado
Silverado engines come in three power levels: adequate, peppy, and please-Officer-don’t-arrest-me. The base 285-hp 4.3-liter V-6 does a reasonable job of hauling such a big vehicle around, at least when lightly loaded. The 355-hp 5.3-liter V-8 has good power when you put your foot down hard, but it feels lazy when you don’t; in our testing, it hit 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 also underwhelms when driven with a light foot, but stomp the pedal to the floor and hold on for fireworks. It lunges out of the gate with a machine-gun-blast exhaust note behind it and flashes to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds. That sprint puts it in league with a host of quick sporting passenger cars, as well as with the Ford F-1
Suburban

It’s the best of all worlds
It’s no surprise that Suburban is part of America’s best-selling family of full-size SUVs. It offers truck utility, SUV versatility and the kind of refinements you’d expect in a luxury car. But what might surprise you is that even with all its cargo and family room, this large SUV has impressive efficiency — with V8 fuel economy of 22 MPG highway.† Suburban is ready for just about anything.
Performance and specs of the Suburban
The 2019 Suburban comes with a 5.3-liter V8 engine that makes 355 horsepower. It’s paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In the high-end Premier trim, you can get a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine that comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Both setups produce plenty of power and provide strong acceleration despite this large vehicle’s weight. That said, you will have to really step on the gas pedal to tap into that acceleration. The Suburban can tow up to 8,300 pounds when properly equipped.
